Projects : Senior Living Facilities

St. John’s Lutheran Home has been providing professional care for the aged in Albert Lea, MN since 1962. Their facilities for long-term healthcare were aging and St. John’s management staff and board of directors elected to build an entirely new campus on Fountain Lake, just north of the City of Albert Lea. This $30 million project includes a 32-unit assisted living complex, 40-unit independent living complex with an underground garage, and an 84-unit full skilled nursing home facility. These 3 care facilities are connected by another 2 buildings that accommodate a main vestibule reception area, administration area, kitchen, and many other amenities such as a hair salon, lounge, and chapel. All of the buildings are connected by an underground, cast-in-place concrete tunnel and basements for storage space, mechanical rooms, elevator access, and staff circulation. The project reached substantial completion in December of 2017, concluding one of the largest undertakings in the history of the Joseph Company.
